I have my escort at a repair shop. It will not start. They are telling me that the engine turns over, gets spark for a second, then dies.

They replaced the fuel pump and this didn't correct the problem. They replaced the starter and this didn't correct the problem. They replaced the ignition switch and this didn't correct the problem. They checked the fuses and the fuel cutoff switch. This didn't correct the issue.

Any ideas?

Not trying to sound smart, but I think I would find a new repair shop. I also hope you didn't pay for any of this since it didn't fix your problem. If it doesn't start it sounds like it might be the timing belt. If it is starting then dying it could be the coil pack or in the computer possibly. I would have it hooked up to a diagnostic tester and see what codes it is showing.
