my standard escort won't start for some reason. i try to switch the key to start but nothing happens. battery was checked yersterday by autozone test good. radio,headlights work. i think the starter is bad or something.

you can check the starter by lightly tapping on it with a hammer. doing this while someone else tries to crank the vehicle, will sometimes allow the bendix to turn the flywheel.
