1997 Escort wagon 2.0 L. Automatic. I was driving on the highway no problem. Got into some slower traffic and at the light felt a miss in the engine. After the light changed it seemed like there wasn't as much power as before. Next stop I put the car in neutral had a miss but stayed running ,brought up the RPM a bit and engine ran smoothe. Next light I stopped , let the car idle and it died. Tried to start, it fired a couple times and didn't fire anymore. Towed home pulled the timing belt cover, belt did not turn. Teeth missing on belt at crank pulley. Replaced belt, set timing marks , still won't start, have fuel, have pressure , coil tests (multimeter) okay, but will not fire. will check compression next.No fault codes either. HELP !

Thanks for the reply. I rechecked timing marks and found they were off 2 teeth. Reset timing belt turned over engine by hand 2 rev's marks are still good. cleaned and checked crankshaft sensor, good, compression is okay. Have power to coil. Turned ignition and it fired right up. Everything is running fine now. Thanks again.
