Can I remove the engine from the 1997 ford escort with an automatic transmission and put it into a 1999 ford escort with a standard transmission? Im unsure about the different transmissions and whether it will matter and whether the engine will line up in the 1999 escort. Please let me know asap need to know before I buy the 99 escort. Thanks.

How can I find out how many bolts the pressure plate has without paying some mechanic to take it apart to check.

Also, if I put the 97 escort engine which was automatic in a 98 escort standard instead of the 99 escort standard, would I still run into the same pressure plate issue? Let me know. Thanks
