The doesn't want to shift into 2nd or 3rd gear all of sudden. Haven't done anything to it yet just trailered it home. Don't know what to check first. Fluid level is fine.

Hi there,

This will be an internal faulty with the valve body more than likely, so if you don't have a lot of experience with working on auto trans, I would get it off to at specialist work shop for a test and report.
