I hit a good size rock with my escort and now I am leaking oil. Whn I crawled under the car, the leak seems to be coming from 2 bolts that are going into the oil pan. There is a bracket that holds up the catalytic converter and it looks like that it what I hit. The bracket seems to have pushed into the oil pan but the oil is coming from on top of the bolts. Do the bolts go all the way into the oil pan? Do I have to replace the entire pan?

they go thru and into the block. remove the suspect bolts and check for damage, is the threads banged up/

try adding some high temp rtv sealent around them to stop.

dependent on what is wrong you may have to replace the oil pan.
