Hi, I have a 1993 Ford escort GT 1.8 and when I go to press on the gas peddle, after stopping at a light or a stop sign, the car will start to go but only creep its way up to the speed I want it to be. It goes really slow and I hear the engine rev up and everything even pressing all the way down on the peddle then the car sputters and then sounds like it isnt sticking. So I have no idea what the problem is because when I went up a hill tonight it was really hard getting the car going up to speed. Im a beginner on cars so I have no idea what this problem is. Thanks.

Inspect and test all the following listed below:

Oxygen sensor
Catalytic converter
Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)
Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Cap and rotor

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.
