I have been having a problem with the battery going dead on my car after it sits for a wile. I just put in a new battery a few days ago. So I started to dig into what it could be. I used my Digital Multi Meter and checked to amp draw when key was off and door was shut. It was at .2 amps. Should I replace the alternator?

With the engine running, what voltage do you have at the battery terminals? And at the alternator power terminal?

My original request had two parts. With the engine running, check voltage at:

1. The battery terminals
2. The alternator terminals

Where did you get 14.1V? Give me both values.
