I want to R&R the cabin air filter on my wife's Escape Limited. Can you advise its exact location and the best way to go about doing the job?
Thanks

A cabin air filter is available for this vehicle as a dealer installed accessory. The accessory cabin air filter will be located in the air inlet under the RH side of the cowl panel grille, if installed.

I looked under the hood, and loosened the cowling near the windshield, but did not locate the cabin air filter. Did I miss it?

The car always smells inside when we run the AC, I have to find the cause and either fix it or have it fixed. Since I'm recently laid off, I'd rather fix it myself!
