I have a Ford Escape XLT 3.0 2005, the check engine light is on, I checked with a scan and the code says :

" INSUFFICIENCY CATALYST",

I changed the catalyst, but the light came on again, I changed the oxygen sensor (both) but continue the problem. It could be the cap fuel tank or not ???

Please I need some help. TKs.

Hey . . .

Your gas cap wouldn't have anything to do with a catalyst code. If it were an EVAP code we you could consider your cap a problem. I have a few questions for you . . . Did you change all 4 O2 sensors or just 2? The Escapes have 2 upstream and 2 downstream sensors. This might be your problem. Also, you should call a Ford service department and see if there is a TSB or recall on the CC.

Hit me back if ya come up with anything
