Engine problem
2001 Ford Escape 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 110 km miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
the truck was erratic idle and the dealer changed the iac valve . It is not throwing a code . It will not start after sitting overnight .After started it runs great and starts every time. Sometimes if we leave the ignition on for 5-10 mins it will start and lately if we quickly pump the gas pedal it starts. Cold weather or not, no difference, no smells ,leaks , have changed the fuel filter and new plugs. wet weather does not affect it. Could it be MAF sensor, fuel reg, pump???
Thanks in advance

Get the fuel system pressure and coolant temperature check for a start. Comeback with the pressure readings with and without the pressure regulator.

I agree with RASMATAZ, it sounds like the fuel pump is going out. when it wont start I would use starting fluid to see if it changes anything, if so let's remove the fuel pump and install a new one. Here is how the job is done to help fix the problem. You are lucky because the fuel pump has a trap door and the tank will not need to be dropped. Check out the images (below). Let us know how it goes
