1988 ford E350 conversion van 460 V8 automatic over 100,000 miles. When cold engine starts and check engine light comes on. As soon as it warms up the light goes out and the engine dies and will not restart. No spark at plugs after that. Installed new distributer cap and rotor, new plugs and wires, new fuel filters, checked all fuses, how do I check the coil? Could it be the module in the distributer? How do I check it? Also it is EFI and has a new fuel pump and fuel pump relay.?

Check for power at coil positive-do you have it? No power do below.

Try this get a jumper wire connect one end to the coil positive and the other to the battery positve terminal this will bypass the resistance wire.

Crank engine over do you have spark-if so the resistance wire went south. No spark remove jumper wire remove distributor cap and measure the pick-up coil resistance should have 400 to 1000 ohms.

Also test the coil primary resistance should be 0.8 to 1.8 ohms and secondary 7,700 to 10,500 ohms.

Pick up coil/coil checks out look for the ICM normally its mounted to the fender 4X4 gray box-trial by error
