1988 Ford E-Series Van V8 All Wheel Drive Automatic

I need help in fixing the loose steering in my van. 1988 Ford Econoline 150 van. I tried searching the net but did not find anything that was about my van. Just other vehicles.

There are a number of reasons for this, there could be loose inner and outer tie rods tie rod ends drag link center link and the steering box itself and ball joints and the knuckle joint on the steering colum where it connects to the steering box and then the wheel bearings

Ok lets start off with tie rod ends. How would I know if its them or not? Should I be able to get under it and have some one turn the wheel and it be obvious? Oh and what do you mean inner and outer?
