My key fits perfectly into the ignition, but will not turn. I have tried turning the wheels as I try the ignition switch but still nothing. The key works perfectly in the door, but not in the ignition. Do I need to replace the ignition switch and key?

The first thing to do is make sure the ignition switch is not stuck due to dirt or grime. Use some spray lubricant and work the key and see if the key will free up.

If it doesn't and you can remove the key, then you will need to drill out the tumblers so that you can turn it to the run position in order to get the cylinder out to rebuild it.

However, let's run through this guide to see if you can free it up:

If none of this works, I attached the process below on how to remove the cylinder when it is not working. However, this is not the easiest as it takes a lot of disassembling so the other ways will hopefully work for you.

Let me know what questions you have.

Thanks
