2002 Ford Crown Victoria stalls and now wont start

2002 Ford Crown Victoria V8 Automatic 11000 miles

the car started to stall while idleing on saturday. No check engine light, no funny noises. started right back up and drove home. car stalled again at a red light on sunday and needed to be jumped off to start. drove the car to walmart, they tested the battery and it read a bad cell. bought a new battery, drove 100 miles and it stalled again at a red light. this time it the new battery didnt help after being jumped off. now the car will turn over but it wont catch and start. mechanic hooked to computer and it pulls no codes. mechanic says it jumped time from replacing the battery and made a piston hit a head. i think mechanic didnt want to look at it. please help. lone car of a divorced mom with 3 teenagers.

Sorry to hear the problems you've having. Professional businesses need to get it right the first time. Here are two ways you can help yourself: First, don't buy batteries at a chain auto parts or discount store. Buy only Interstate batteries. They're a little more expensive but they last much longer. Second, you need a new mechanic. It's best to find one before you have problems. Don't go with the cheapest guy, or you'll get advice like this. His explanation is complete junk. Ask a repair shop what steps they will take to solve your problem. The proper steps should be to first verify fuel and spark. I am sure you have a problem with one of the two.
