1997 Ford Crown Victoria When cold it dies and while drivin

1997 Ford Crown Victoria V8 Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 270568 miles

Hello there,
My name is Tim and my question is my crown vic just started acting up a couple of days ago. It would start up fone but die as soon as I put it in to reverse or drive. Now it will crank but won't start up so I have to apply gas as soon as I put it in reverse to get it going then it drove fine until about 10 minutes later it died when I was at a stop light and the light turn green and I was about to go. It has coolant leaks but thats about it. Can you help me any advice would be greatly appreciated.
