The timing belt in my car was replaced about 5000 miles ago and now is giving me trouble again. I was told it needs to replaced, shouldn't they last for years, 100000 miles? Why is it doing this? Should I spend the money to fix it?

Well, I spent 1400 on it to buy the car, to save on gas, it does do pretty good on mileage, 28 mpg. My plan was to run it until the wheels fell off. Sounds like that will come sooner than I expected. Thanks for your advice.
