Is 2.0L 1998 Ford Contour's engine an 'interference' or 'non-interference' engine?

Thanks for quick reply. My understanding is that this is an "either/or" question. My timing belt broke and I was told if non-interference type engine then I am lucky as I may only require new belt. If iinterference type engine then rods or piston may be bent and I am hooped. Any idea what I can expect to find once we look inside?

Yes this engine is a little ify some do bend valves others don't. If you where at 60+ then possible valve damage.
Won't know till belt is on and you spin it
