1998 Ford Contour Car will not start
1998 Ford Contour 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 92,000 miles
Recently had a rebuild transmission put in this vehicle. Drove the car through water 7/24/10 and the vehicle stalled and will not started anymore. What is the problem.

How deep was the water?
Did it suck any into the intake?
Is the starter cranking the engine over normally?

Deep it was a flash flood and it probable did take water to the intake. This is actual my teenager car who drove through the water.

If it drove through water deep enough to be sucked into the intake while the RPMs were up, it will almost instantly bend the connecting rods and trash the engine. It's going to have to have the plugs removed and dried out thoroughly to determine the extent of damage to it.
