1995 Ford Contour won't start

A family- member just gave me an 1995 ford contour, which has been sitting for a year. Its has a new motor, Trans, battery and spark plugs. The engine will turn over but it won't start? It sounds like it's out of gas but it's has a half of tank of gas.

Listen at the rear of the car for the fuel pump when first turn key on
does it come on?
Check the fuel shut off switch
check fuel pressure
check for spark
you need to find what is missing fuel or spark
