Hello im new to the fourm.I have just purchased a ford contour with a few minor problem's. One is the air conditioner. It blows warm air the clutch is clicking on and off.I went to recharge it and had 100 lbs in it on the low side. When the compressor click's on is'nt the needle suppost to fluctuate on the recharging gauge? Do I have a bad compressor? Also what bug's me is the low side line was cold and the high side was hot. But still no cold air inside. Any help would be great :D

Possibly it's a blend door issue under the dash? How long is the compressor running between cycles? Seconds? Approx? If your tubes are coreectly hot and cold, I would think possibly a door issue as noted above

That is what I thought but I was under the dash and watched the door open and close. Is the needle supost to flucuate when the compressor comes on?

Low side should be around 30 to 35hg hight side should be no more than 225 to 250 psi if the compressor is not pulling down a good low side there is a restrection in the line going into the eveporator there is a filter in that line that gets junk in it either from the compressor or the accumlator. Thus it will feel like it is supossed to on the lines but the cold wont go through the evap so no cold. (NOS)
