Hi, we have checked the battery, the alternator, the starter, the starter relay, and now we are at a standstill. Today we are going to recheck the spark plugs and keep looking for any loose wires...this is a difficult one for me. I just drove it 3 days ago...had an issue with the rpms going to 2500 but was at a complete stop, parked the truck, it revved up even more, then turned it off and when I restarted it, it was back to normal. The only other thing I can think of that was different is the way the windshield wipers made a click as they went back and forth. It sounded electrical but am not sure. Fuse maybe? Please if you have any suggestions, let me know. Oh, also, you can start it with any key as the key switch is a little messed up. Do you think that could be an issue?

If the tumbler still turns and lights up the dash I doubt it is the problem. Verify signal (12 volts) at the solenoid, if ok, use a test light to see if 12 volts is getting through the solenoid and down to the starter. If so you may have a bad starter. Need to find out where the voltage is stopped.

On Fords some are and some arent. If there isnt a solenoid on the inner fender next to the battery, it is on the starter
