Once my engine warms up my oil pressure gauge flutters on almost zero pressure when at idle speed. But once I accelerate the pressure returns to normal immediatly and then returns to low when I slow down. Also if I shift into neutral or park the gauge quickly returns to normal. Any suggestions on what the problem is would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

First thing to do is have the engine oil pressure tested with a mechanical gauge, this will give us the actual readings, this may just be a faulty sender or dash gauge, post the readings here, cold idle, hot idle & hot 2000 RPM.

If the engine is not making any type of knocking noises upper/lower end of the engine-I wilkl start by replacing the oil pressure switch

If your engine is knocking, this will be the crank bearings destroying themselves with no oil pressure.
