i know a little bit about automobiles... i went to change my water pump which i thought would be a simple process, 5 of the 7 bolts holding the water pump have snapped. i have tried drilling the bolts out but keep snapping the drill bits then i thought i might be able to simply pull off the water pump and have better access to the bolts to apply heat and then un screw them but i cant get the pump off.... help if you can.. thanks for the advice... pulling off the water pump to have better access to the bolts is a good idea. Is it firmly attached all the way around, or is it somewhat loose and just binding up in one area? If it's tight all the way around, the gasket may still be exerting it's sticking authority.

If you can't get the water pump off, try taking off the timing chain cover. Half the bolts holding the water pump go through the timing chain cover into the block. If you can take off the timing chain cover, you might possibly be able to separate the two out of the vehicle. I hope this helps.
