Transmission problem
1997 Ford Aerostar 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 140000 miles
the transmission wont go in drive or revers but can drive in 2 and 1.changed oil and filter.still the same but when i drive the car on the freeway in 2 and put in drive its ok.

Everything you are telling me points to a manual lever position sensor or a solenoid problem excxept the NO REVERSE. .................Damn this is a good one. Feel lucky?????. First off ya gotta go to an auto parts store and get a scan. Trans specific if possible . If not a regular one might do. Get back W/me with the codes .Larry
