My aerostar will overheat and coolant sprays out of the hoses on the left side of engine leaving a huge pool of coolant on ground by front right tire. looked around water pump housing and could not see a leak there. Replaced thermostat-no help. Also the transmission started not going into gear same time as overheating and friend thinks may be related? Had complete transmission flush and gasket changed but problem still there.

I just had the same problem last week, check the hoses behind the tension pully, my hose split and leaked everywhere and my trany started to act up too, I bought a some new hose and a T fitting along with a 2 male fitting, about $14 at auto zone, it's 5/8 inch hose by the way, check all the hoses there. good luck...
