The only reason the gears are stripping out are due to incompatibility of gears or bad cam gears.
Did you check if the gears are of the correct size and number of tooth?

CAM GEAR LOOKS OK AND GEARS MATCH UP IM WOUNDERING IF OIL PUMP COULD BE CULPRET THANKS GARY2679

If the oil pump is not working correctly, it would be indicated by the warning lights in dash.
Tha short driving distance should not have caused the gears to strip if the oil pump is working. Even reduced pressure would not cause it to wear off so fast.
