Engine Performance problem
1993 Ford Aerostar 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 214k miles
I want to test if my maf sensor is defective. I remove the maf sensor with the electrical connector on and probe the green wire using a a paper clip and attach my multimeter red lead to it and the black lead to the negative battery cable or ground. Then I connect my vacuum pump to the platinum wire head. I turn the ignition key on. I turn the multimeter to ac voltage and it gives a .03 volt. As I applied pressure to the vacuum, the voltage didn't change a bit. Did I follow the right procedure to test if my maf sensor is defective? What other test should I do to test my maf sensor because when I start my engine cold, it stalls after a few seconds. I have to push the pedal to keep it from stalling. When I put the gear to the D position, the engine vibrates and very rough. I already clean the throttle body and check the resistance of the tb sensor and it seems nothing is wrong with it. Thank you for your advise.
