Howdy, I have a 1990 Ford Aerostar Cargo Van 277,000+/- miles. Engine will start, runs for between 45 seconds and 2 minutes then dies, originally checked fuel pressure at the fuel rail discovered it was low >20PSI, replaced fuel pump and strainer, fuel pressure improved 38-40PSI but problem persists. Pulled a plug to confirm spark, starts out bright blue fades to yellow and the engine dies. Suggestions as to probable cause greatly appreciated

Now try checking the coil for a deep blue spark, if its a good spark then remove the cap, and check under to see if there is corrosion on the terminals of the cap., But before anything is it injected? If not then calibrate the fuel mixtures, and see what it gives you. What kind of plugs do you have? Autolite is made just for ford, id go with either autolite, or motorcraft.

Let me know so I can actually help.
