Hey, so I recently had a check engine light come on and the code was for the flex fuel sensor. When I checked where the sensor is located for anything I noticed and aftermarket, flex fuel replicator was attached. I want to fix the issue and not just get a new replicator. How do I get the fuel system so it is not under pressure, and change the press fitting things where the fuel lines are that go into the sensor? Also, how do I know it is not the cables or connection to the replicator? To me, it would appear that if I fix the sensor, ditch the replicator, the overall problem should be fixed right?

No because that sensor needs to be there for OBD2 to work correctly as well as emissions. It has to be there due to the different type of alcohol used in fuel. See if the sensor is bad. See picture for test. Could also be fuel contamination.

I can only see the first portion of the picture. Where did you find it? And the fuel is not contaminated already tested. But, if I replace the entire flex fuel sensor the problem will be fixed, yeah?

What you see is what I sent the rest of picture is blank or has nothing to do with how to test. You do this test to see if signal is getting sent from PCM which may not be happening. There is not real test for sensor so replacement is option if this test is okay. The rest of t he testing needs to be done by a mechanic with a professional scanner.

Okay, thank you. How do I remove the fuel lines from the sensor and get them to match my new sensor?
