2000 Fiat Punto 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

The speedo stopped working and now the engine managment light has come on the dash board,would they be connected and how can i resolve the problem?

yes, they are probably connected .. replace the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) located on the gearbox .. have the vehicle plugged into a diagnostic scanner to locate the cause and turn off the light !
