Models punto 1.2 16 valve dynamic:

Engine Performance problem
2004 Other Fiat Models 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 60000 miles

Good Day!
I wonder if you could possibly assist me in this matter.
I stay in Durban, South Africa, but have had no joy with having my Punto’s problem fixed. I have a 2004 1.2 Dynamic Punto (old shape).
I just had ECU replaced due to the car cutting out and the diagnostic test stating that it was a faulty ECU. I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM!
I have scoured the FIatForum.com website and have come up with the following possible causes:
• Faulty crank sensor
• Faulty lambda sensor
• Fuel injectors may need cleaning
• Idle control valve may need cleaning or the air flow meter.
• Fuel pump may be faulty.
The car will only ever cut out if I am in low gear and rolling to a stop. NEVER whilst driving on freeways or otherwise but only when I come to a stop. Doesn’t matter if I been driving for 2 minutes or two hours.
Have you ever heard of this?

Please, if anyone could offer assistance, I would be SERIOUSLY grateful.
Many thanks

I would start by replacing the CKP (crankshaft position) sensor

As it turned out, there was dirt in the throttle body and, subsequent to cleaning the throttle body, the car has been 100%!
Thanks for the response.
