If the check engine light is flashing, that indicates to stop driving the vehicle before anything becomes damaged. If the check engine light is off right now, the code is still set in the memory, scan for codes and let me know what you find. I can further help you if I have this information otherwise I can only name a few things it could be. Check for any intake leaks around the air filter housing and intake tube. Check to see how the throttle plate looks and if it's seated properly. If you see any carbon buildup on the throttle plate or around it, you can clean it off using some throttle body cleaner. This buildup, especially at idle, can prevent the proper amount of airflow to get into the combustion chamber causing a rich condition that can damage your catalytic converter. Just a warning, when you do this, the vehicle might not start right away the first time. That's normal.
