Vehicle is in need of engine replacement

Vehicle is in need of engine replacement and I would like to know if a 2009 2.2L will work in my 2008? I have been told that it will, but I would have to use my old fuel rail and intake. I'm fine with doing that, just want to know for sure it will work before I spend the money on the 2009 engine.

Good evening.

The simple answer is yes. You will need to change the intake manifold and the exhaust as well. The block is the same and you will have no issues installing into your car.
