Engine light stays on

Hi folks,

So my engine light has been on for quite some time. At first it would come on and then turn off by itself, sometimes mid drive. But it's been on for quite some time now.

I had an MOT which failed because of this and the ABS light. ABS was fixed and engine light turned off too. I drove 20 miles to work and as I pulled into the carpark, the light came on again.

I've just used my lunch hour to take it for a drive and the light is on again from the time I start the engine. It's cost me a fortune this far and I'm at my wit's end.

Please, someone help? I'd be really grateful.
