When it’s really hot outside the thermometer will go up with the air on. When it starts to rise I turn the air off and it goes back down. When the car is off and I start it the engine coolant over temperature light goes on and then goes off.

Hello,

This is normal. When you first start your vehicle the over temperature bulb should illuminate and the turn off. This is what is known as a bulb check and is completely normal. Also when your A/C turns on the A/C compressor clutch kicks in and the engine has to turn the A/C compressor which makes it work harder. As a result the temperature should rise a little, but your vehicle's engine cooling should kick on to compensate when the temperature reaches a certain point.

Thanks,
Alex
