Auto shop did diagnostic check of computer.
Codes PO 440, 441 and 446 appeared.
Shop indicated emissions issue but could not help.
The car runs perfectly except for sudden appearance of those codes.
How is this corrected?

Hi,

The 3 codes are not all a problem. The problem is related to the P0440. Codes 441 and 446 are set as a result of the 440.

Most likely there is a leak in the EVAP system. Have you checked the fuel cap? Also, check the filler tube where fuel enters the tank for evidence of rust or damage. Any leak can cause this. Take notice if there is a fuel smell at any point on the vehicle.

Let me know what you find. If there is no smell, and everything appears good, then it becomes a diagnostics process which is somewhat extensive. I would be happy to provide the steps. Let me know if it is something you can do. It will require a higher level scan tool to read live data.

Let me know.

Joe
