Two days ago I bought an 89 Econoline, put a brand new battery into it and drove it around. Started strong and ran fine. Today I tried to start it and there was only a very slight, single click, and nothing. I turned on the headlights then honked the horn to see if the battery was dead and both lights and horn were strong. I wiggled the battery cables and tried again but it didn't not start, turn over, click or anything - no lights either. I nudged the battery cables again and this time I received that very faint click again but then nothing. I'm moving in seven days and absolutely must have it running by then. Also, I am nearly out of money. Please help! And thank you!

check to see if cables are corroded if they are replce them. also have an assistant try to start truck, you smack the body of starter see if itstarts if it doesn replace starter. Make sure battery is in good shape though it must have 12.4 volts with no load.

You're not getting enough current to the starter so start with the GROUND CABLE FIRST and check your connections at both ends (remove and clean), still got problems replace the solenoid.
