1998 eagle talon, 131,000miles 4cyl. 5spd.
got her stuck in snow, rocking it back and forth
to get her out, now clutch engages, wheels will not spin. Clutch was picking up properly before this,
noticed it was requiring a stomp to the floor by the
time I was done getting her more stuck in the snow.
I did not smell clutch burning. And it did not overheat.
please give me a clue on where to get started.
thanks.

Upon further investigation, I found the 17mm hardened pin that attached the bevel gears in the snow. The hardened pin that holds the bevel gears, that drive the driveshaft, came loose, and chewed a softball size hole in the transmission case.
I pulled out the bevel gears out by hand, through the hole, and am in the process of what to do next.
I do not believe that I have a manual trans. That is going to be rebuilt, and the core charge for another one seems unlikely with a gaping hole in the case.
What are my options.
Thanks

I would try to locate a used one. E-bay perhaps, junkyard.
