Drove through high water

I drove my car through high water and it was fine until I had to start it back up. Now the check engine light is on.

That means the Engine Computer detected a problem and set a diagnostic fault code. The place to start is by having those codes read and recorded. The people at many auto parts stores will do that for you for free.
