Hey out there, I'm having a really weird problem with my truck.
I installed a new set of headlights that have a separate high and low beam (projector low reflector high) after installing I went to test it all and that's where it got weird and aggravating, with both headlights hooked up (and I swear they are wired right) all 4 filaments are lit up and they shouldn't be, if I disconnect the driver side the passenger works normally but with both sides no such luck.
I even went as far as hooking the factory 9004 bulbs up to the factory plug and it got even more strange, both the high and low beam filaments are lit up except the passenger side is really bright and the driver side is dim, I don't know how this could happen. The factory headlights worked before I started but now something is seriously wrong!
Does this year of truck have some sort of computer like CANBUS that could me causing the problem?

I've tried switching wires checking for ground issues alternate ground sources which should make them light up because it's a ground supplied system, I'm at a total loss, I've worked through a lot of electrical gremlins but this one is beyond me I think.

Really need an assist! Help!

Thanks for visiting 2CarPros.

There is no CAN BUS on this model, but there is a daytime running lamp option. If your's is equipped with this it may be an issue with that module causing all 4 filaments to light up. I'll post the wiring diagram below. If you don not have the DRL option please let me know.

Thanks, I didn't think it did had CANBUS but some sort of a more simple circuitry, my truck doesn't have DRL's either but thanks for the diagram anyway.
You know the strangest thing is, I think I solved the problem, I went through and did some more checking (ran out or daylight and good weather the day I posted this question) it turns out the left side headlight fuse was the culprit. I'm so used to having lights or blower motors etc, etc. Just quitting when a fuse blows that it didn't occur to me it could cause the above described problems. Just didn't make sense but I figured well I checked everything else so what the heck and there it was a blown fuse!
Still can't believe that the headlights came on at all, I guess that is how is supposed to work?
What do you think, sound normal?

Thanks again, Sonny

It sounds like the circuit may have been back feeding through the good light. You're right about that kind of thing usually not happening. Dodge is one of the few manufacturers who have the oddest electrical issue.
