I have a 98.5 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 24valve Cummins Turbo Diesel also it is a two wheel drive with an automatic. The problem is that when I go down the road I can be going and it seems to loose all power and stay at a speed and the slowly drop till I am barely moving. I took it to a shop and they scanned it and said nothing was wrong. I went out and bought a hand held scan tool. I am coming up with three code which are P0216, P1693, and P0122. I just need help figuring out what is wrong with it. I really like this truck and I don't want to get rid of it for any reason.

Several things to check on your cummins, I could go on and on. Check and replace your fuel filter i'm not sure if you are in a cold climate but you need to make sure your fuel is treated by the station or by you, could be gelled up causing you to loose power. If thats not it post again and we will try something else. Some other things to check are the items everyone forgets about with diesels, they need to breath check your air filter if it is dirty change it.
