I have started experienceing a power loss. When I try to speed up, it kicks into passing gear, my rpms run high while trying to maintain speed. My check engine light sometimes will flash and once it stayed on. I scanned and it told me I mis-fired on #1 cylinder. I checked and the spark was fine. I went ahead and replaced the plugs, wires, rotor and cap but still have the problem. Any ideas?

Good luck with yours. I have similar problems with my '95 but no lights. From 45 - 60 mph the truck shakes when the transmission goes into lockup. I've done a complete tuneup, and I'm told the problem is compression and I need 2 new heads. Someone suggested wiring a switch such that you can select (or deselect) overdrive.
