I don't drive this vehicle much anymore but used it to pull a trailer of furniture for a friend. After driving 40 miles and parking it for a while I was going to move it for unloading and it would not start. It would fire (like on 2 cylinders) and then die. This happened on each turn of the key and then die. A fuel smell was noticeable like it was flooding. As the plugs were old I changed them thinking that the plugs were fouling and tried again. Now it doesn't fire at all. I don't think it is a fuel problem as there was a fuel odor, but not after changing the plugs.
I am not familiar with electronic ignitions and hope is is some minor part that needs replacing. What do you think?

Lets try the ignition system first

Disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors- Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it
