Hello I have 1997 dodge pickup with a trailer.I am having problems with the trailer lights. When I have trailer hook on it works just fine all lights work good till I turn my headlights on. When I turn headlights on and hit the brake lights on the tralier lights go out and the backup light come on the truck. I need help thanks?

Sounds like you have a problem with how you have your trailer wiring hooked up, sure there are no bare wires.

I have had 2 diffrent traliers hooked up to this truck and it does the same thing. I was wondering if that the t-plugs that connect to the factory wiring can go bad. I spayed cleaner on them and that didnt help.

Not saying the tralier harness on the trailer I am saying the harness on the truck, from where it hooks to the trailer all the way out.

The t pins can get coroded and wires can get pinched.
