I went out to start the car at 10:00 at night and it would not start, engine shook and sputtered and coughed but would not start, all wires, lines and cables seemed to be connected, no problem was visually apearent. I figured the fuel pump was out. The next morning at 6:00 I went out and took the fuel line loose just as it enters the fuel rail and turned on the key, fuel ran everywhere telling me the pump was fine. Upon reconnecting the fuel line I cranked the engine and it fired right up and ran as usual. I will drive it to work today and see how it does but I was wondering if you had any ideas as to my problem. I cranked it and pumped the gas and tried everything I could think of the night before, I am really stumped. Please respond to curtisp@netzero. Net or let me know where I can go and read your answer.

I went out to take the car to work and it would not start again, Two hours later I came home and the car statrted right up, a buddy of mine told me it could be the crankshaft position censor.

Thank you very much

Start by checking both your crankshaft position sensor and your camshaft position sensor.

I replaced the crankshaft position sensor which is located under the starter on the 2006 Stratus and the car starts fine now. Thanks for the help
