how do you replace an EGR control valve

Service and Repair

REMOVAL
The EGR valve and Transducer are to be replaced as an assembly.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the air cleaner box.

Remove the 2 bolts EGR tube to EGR valve.
Remove the 2 bolts for EGR valve to cylinder head.
Disconnect the electrical connector from transducer.
Remove the vacuum hose from the EGR transducer.
Remove the EGR valve and transducer as an assembly

INSTALLATION
Clean surfaces of cylinder head and EGR tube where EGR valve interfaces.
Install new gasket between the EGR valve and the transducer to cylinder head and loose install bolts.
Install the 2 bolts from EGR tube to EGR valve.
Tighten the EGR valve to cylinder head bolts to 22.9 N.m (202 in. lbs.) .
Tighten the EGR tube to EGR valve bolts to 11.3 N.m (100 in. lbs.) .
Connect the electrical connector to EGR transducer.
Connect the vacuum hose to EGR transducer.
Install the air cleaner box.
Connect the negative battery cable.
