Engine Performance problem
1999 Dodge Stratus 4 cyl Automatic 97000 miles

My car seems to sputter/choke at around 1700 RPMs when going up any kind of incline (from minimal to an actual hill) unless I gun the engine to over 2500 RPMs or so. Any ideas or suggestions? I don't know how else to describe it. If I still had my manual I'd downshift if the car felt like this.

Seeing as how I can't find any information on the plugs or wires, I'm guessing that's a good place to start?

Worn plugs and bad wires (especially plugs) will show up more under engine load.
