Having a problem with my car. When you have the rmp's high(either in neutral or while driving) the engine will misfire or cut out real bad. When it does this the tach will drop suddenly as if the car was turned off and then return to the correct spot. Its only when its high in rpm's around 5k. Ive noticed its worse if you have it at wide open throttle and bring the rpm's up quickly. If you do it slowly keeping the throttle at about half way open you can get the rpm's much higher without it cutting like this. When it cuts out and picks back up a poping noise can be heard. It almost as if the computer is setting the rev limiter too low. For anyone familiar with 2-step ignition systems its acting exacltly like it would if it had a 2-step in it. I have replaced the plugs and wires with no effect. It is also throwing the check engine light. Which pins on the obdI plug do I need to probe to see pulses from the ecu?
