1991 Dodge Stealth hard shifting

Have a '91 dodge stealth. When going front park to drive or reverse it engages hard. I need to keep foot on brake to keep it from jumping when engaged. Any opinions would b e greatly appreciated before I take it to a shop.

I have a 95 dodge stealth rt.

Same problem as you are having.

I keep my front hard on break untill I feel it engage.

Mine is also jerking bad when rpm's are low and its shifting down.

(i wish I would of got a 5spd. Lol)
